It’s official, we have a toddler…

I’ve been speculating for weeks that our daughter would be walking within the next week or so and tonight it happened. This is unfortunately the worst video I took, but also the only one that seemed to have been saved to the flash card on my phone. (I’ve since reformatted the card in preparation for more walking tomorrow…) Lela started off small, just a short walk like the one seen here. Within minutes she was walking from room to room without assistance and without falling. I’ve been saying she was capable, but just needed the confidence to do it. She certainly found that confidence tonight!

Happy 1st Birthday Lela!

As I write this I can’t believe you’re already 1 year old. It seems like only yesterday that we brought you home from the hospital. You’ve grown a lot in this first year, and I’m sure you’ll keep on growing just as fast in the year to come. Mommy and I can’t wait to throw your birthday party tomorrow.

Baghira

Today was a sad day for Nan and I. This morning we had to have our cat Mr. B put to sleep. We often thought of him as our first child and it was extremely hard to have to make that choice. We both know it was the right thing to do, but that hasn’t made it any easier. I always had cats growing up, but Mr. B was probably the most unique one I’ve ever known. He will be missed to say the least.
